Glen Beck Bids Fox news a Fond Farewell

Washington: Glen Beck is leaving fox news. News analyst Jeff Jarvis, professor of journalism at CCNY, new media consultant, and author of the book “What Would Google Do” postulated on the “This Week in Google” Podcast that Beck is likely to head toward the internet.

Glenn Beck has a history of drawing crowds, and may just start a trend that gets A-level media hounds leaving the traditional network format, heading towards the Internet as an outlet that allows full expression, with low overhead.

It is unknown at this time how Beck’s leaving Fox will affect his status of Radio Giant. All we can say is that Beck had better have a plan if he wants to do half as well on the interwebs as he has on TV. He will be up against talented amateurs who know their technology, their comedy, and news delivery. They also know how to Barry competition by using such methods as Twitter, Facebook, and good old fashioned Search Engine optimization.

Beck beware. When you come to the internet, you will have to use Talent, or be lost in the dust.
